LATEST NEWS! Adelaide, Facebook & The Space!

The team at Arcana Star have been hard at work as always, improving and expanding the services we provide for our clients. So here is a break down of our latest updates…

Our most exciting news we’d like to share is that we now have hens night and children’s party/ school incursion instructors available for hire in Adelaide. That means we would love to come to you to run one of our super fun dance classes at your Adelaide homes, schools or party venues, so contact us NOW!

We are also looking for more quality Adelaide talent so if you think you have the right stuff head on down to our Careers page and apply to be considered further.

We also have some news for our Melbourne clients, Arcana Star have just teamed up with The Space dance studios just off Chapel Street. This means hens and party groups can now do a dance class with us at the studio, then head on down the road to your venue or activity of choice. You’re even allowed to bring your own Bubbly and glasses! More details are on Our Venues page

Arcana Star Sponsors a Child in India!

Arcana Star is so very proud to announce that we are now sponsoring a child in India by the name of Pankaj!

Thanks to our continued success as a business, we at Arcana Star decided that it was high time me teamed up with charity organisation Plan so we could contribute positively to a child in need and their community.

Pankaj is currently 4 years old, he is pictured on the left along side a handprint painting he made for us. Arcana Star director Annalise Cutajar had an immense amount of fun putting her hand in paint and writing Pankaj a letter to return the favour.

We at Arcana Star would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of our wonderful clients for making such opportunities to give back in a productive way possible.

We will keep you updated on Pankaj’s progress and encourage anyone interested in sponsoring a child to visit the Plan website.


Tick Tock it’s Festive Season!

Can you believe it’s that time already? We certainly can’t! 2011 is flying by which means time is running out for booking your Christmas and New Years entertainment.

The team at Arcana Star are waiting to take your event enquiries for entertainers and we are already buzzing with bookings.

Our most popular options available nationwide are our Belly Dancers who can be hired as solo acts or a troupe performance. We’ve included here a video of one of our most requested dancers Alexandria performing at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre.

Tarot by Night is also a very popular option with readers available to come to your event to offer mini Tarot readings for interest guests. This is something personal to offer and guests love comparing their readings.

For something a bit more on the cheeky side why not hire a group of Cabaret Showgirls to liven up the night? The performances are a vibrant mix of tasteful sass and with stunning costuming they’ll make for some amazing event photos.

Another option becoming increasingly popular is hiring a themed dance instructor as seen on Our Parties page. The costumed instructor will get everyone dressed up and dancing in no time. Classes are a lot of fun, great for team building and getting the dance moves started for the night. Themes include Belly Dance, Latin, Bollywood and Exotic/ Burlesque.

Lady Velveteen rocks the Club!

Arcana Star’s resident Burlesque trio Lady Velveteen has had a very busy September having performed at a number of events. Most recently organisers for One Nightclub had the Melbourne based group travel all the way to Albury, NSW to put on a show for their enthusiastic crowd.

The performances were for a Burlesque themed clubbing event held on Sept 17th and included full troupe choreographies, live vocals, Ballet Pointe work, samba, numerous costume changes and a whole lot of glitter and glam.

One Nightclubs event organizer had this to say to Arcana Star’s director about the performances:

‘Hi Annalise, just to let you know that Lady Velveteen were awesome at One Nightclub last week… Thank you so much for everything.. Hope to do business with you again in the near future.. Cheers Bernard’

The next morning after a full night of entertaining the masses the Lady Velveteen dancers ran two Burlesque workshops at Hume Dance School in nearby Lavington to give participants a few pointers in ‘strutting your stuff’.

Lady Velveteen has performed at a whole range of events from large scale Casio functions right through to birthdays and weddings.

Make Arcana Star your pick this wedding season!


With the month of September just a few days away wedding season is just about to hit full swing, so NOW is the time to start really thinking about finalising your hens night and wedding entertainment.

Arcana Star has a number of great options for hens nights with our most popular being our themed dance classes. Classes include a performance by your very friendly instructor, costume pieces for all, a more elaborate costume for the soon- to-be bride, a one hour class in your chosen theme AND a gift bag for the Queen Hen!

Class themes include Belly Dance, Exotic Dance (or burlesque), Bollywood or Latin and we can of course combine the themes for you. What’s more we can either come to you to run the class or you can use one of our venues, with drinks/ meals packages included.

Another very popular inclusion for hens nights is our Tarot by Night readers. For those who want to add a bit of mystery to their hens night, the readers will do mini readings for all your guests so that everyone leaves your event with something personal as well as providing a great conversation starter as guests compare readings. What better way to embark on a new journey than giving the bride-to-be a little insight into the future?

For those seeking some entertainment options for their wedding reception take a look at the ‘our performers’ page on this site, there are a number of options with our Belly Dancers being the most popular. Dancers can be hired individually or as a troupe. All performers are all highly talented and experienced.

Arcana Star now also in PERTH!

As promised in our last post we have our first bit of BIG news to announce for 2011. Arcana Star is now operating in Perth!

You cannot imagine how excited we are to be offering Hens all over Perth the Arcana Star Hens Night experience. Arcana Star Director Annalise Cutajar personally traveled to the state to audition our wonderful new dance instructors and meet with some fabulous new venues.

Annalise had an amazing time in Perth and was able to create some great working relationships with local businesses that are also excited to partner with Arcana Star to give our clients the best events possible.

We will be adding these to the venues and performers pages of our website over the next couple of weeks so please do keep checking back with us. You can also ask us directly through the Contact Us page of this website.

We cannot wait to embark on this new venture in Perth and really look forward to providing some truly amazing experiences to our new Perth Clients as well as continuing to work out our current clients in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.


Happy New Year, 2010 in Review!

2010 was an amazing year for Arcana Star and we think it’s a good idea both for our staff and valued clients to get an overview of what Arcana Star achieved in the last 12 months, so we invite you to read on to find out more.

2010 in review.

Arcana Star welcomed more of the most impressive Performers in the country to our family, including those who have performed and trained all over Australia and the WORLD!

2010 we entertained significant corporate and private clients including CGU Insurance, William Angliss Tafe as well as many private weddings at various locations such as Crown Casino’s Palladium Ballroom, Old Melbourne Gaol and the Melbourne Exhibition & Convention Centre. We participated in public events for Burlesque Bar, Moonee Ponds Healers Market, Mind, Body & Spirit Expo and more!

Arcana Star had the joy of extending our Hens Night and Party Packages as we built partnerships with outstanding Venues around the country and all through 2010 we were delighted to be part of many fun filled celebrations.

2010 also saw the launch of our Children’s Parties range of dance classes as well as the launch of Arcana Star in Queensland to which we continue to add to our services along with those available in our Victorian and New South Wales branches.

Looking Toward 2011.

Arcana Star has a number of magnificent opportunities, events, ventures, new entertainment and partnerships that will be revealed as they near their launch in 2011.

However we would like to remind everyone that Term 1 for our Shake, Shimmy, Move! dance classes will be recommencing in the Point Cook area of Melbourne in February 2011 and we invite you to continue to return to this page as we will have some exciting publicly available events listed on here very soon.

Performer in Focus for October 2010!

While 2010 continues to rush on by Arcana Star would like to announce the Performer in Focus for October 2010 is actually our Burlesque trio, Lady Velveteen.

Lady Velveteen is comprised of gorgeous character dancers- Alexia Diamond who specialises in elegant ballet Pointe routines; Honey Havana who performs highly skilled Latin numbers utilising lush feather fans and finally Ruby Lustre who belts out show stopping live jazz numbers. The act includes beautiful props such as glitter filled umbrellas and chair routines and the costumes are one of a kind designer pieces that are some of the most sparkly outfits around!

Lady Velveteen has graced stages big and small, for events ranging from smaller private parties to large scale corporate do’s at venues such as Melbourne’s Crown Casino.
